Gadsden Lapel Pin

$4.25

This elegant pewter pin can be worn as a lapel pin, a hat pin, a tie pin..wear it wherever you choose to show your patriotism!  The pin measures 3/4″ x 1/2″. Christopher Gadsen, who was a delegate to the Second Continental Congress presented a flag to the Provincial Congress of South Carolina on Feb. 9, 1776.  The journal of the SC congress describes the flag as “an elegant standard, such as is said to be used by the commander-in-chief of the American Navy; being a yellow field with a lively representation of a rattlesnake in the middle, in the attitude of going to strike, and these words underneath, DON’T TREAD ON ME!”
