Join Maddie Sisson, Lead Specialist for Family Learning at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, as she explores the friendship of George Washington and Patrick Henry. This virtual talk will be streamed LIVE on Red Hill’s social media pages.
 
About the talk:
 
Both Washington and Henry played an integral role in founding and shaping the American Republic, but their friendship also had a profound impact on each other. This virtual lecture will explore the many ways their lives intersected and how they built a friendship that overcame political differences and geographical distance through their own letters.
 
About the speaker:
 
Maddie Sisson is a museum educator with a passion for making history accessible for everyone. She received a Joint Bachelor’s Degree in History from William & Mary and the University of St. Andrews, and her Master’s in Teaching in Museum Education from George Washington University. She has served as Mount Vernon’s Lead Specialist for Family Learning since June 2023. When not at work, she can be found planning trips, exploring a new museum, or curled up with a book and her cat, Minerva.
