About the talk:

“Love & Legacy at Red Hill” examines marriage as both a personal relationship and a foundation for family and community at Red Hill. This presentation discusses the unions of John Henry & Elvira Henry, William Wirt Henry & Lucy Gray Henry, Lucy Henry Harrison & Matthew Bland Harrison, and the generations shaped by these marriages. It also considers what is known about the marriages and family lives of enslaved people and their descendants at Red Hill, including Harry & Matilda Pannell and Harrison & Milly Henry, an enslaved coachman who lived through four generations of the Henry family.
