We invite you to visit Red Hill as we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

Visitors can:

  • Take an in-depth self-guided or pre-scheduled guided tour of the estate and museum.
  • Learn more with updated and additional interpretation of the buildings in the historic area.
  • Volunteer to assist our Director of Collections in the museum or our Archaeologist with excavations or lab work.
  • Enjoy special events such as lantern tours, home educators’ living history days, and our famous Independence Day Celebration.
  • Return in late 2025 to visit our brand-new visitor orientation room on the 10,000-year history of Red Hill and all its inhabitants.

From its founding ideals to its leading figures, more of what made America happen, happened here in Virginia. Established by the General Assembly in 2020, the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250) serves to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the Independence of the United States in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Red Hill is proud to be a Commemorative Partner of VA250. As we mark 250 years of Independence, reconnect with your country in the place that made it possible.
