Join Patrick Henry’s Red Hill and members of the descendant community to honor the life and legacy of Red Hill’s enslaved population and their descendants. Doors open at 10:00 am with an opportunity to speak with partner museums and organizations tabling on the grounds.
Presentations begin at 11:00 am and include an opening ceremony at the Quarter Place Cemetery, where 147 enslaved and free African Americans are buried.
Lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm for an additional cost, for which tickets can be purchased in addition to event registration below. Hear research updates and genealogy discoveries from our research staff, and sing and dance with a jazz band.
