“Welcome to Patrick Henry’s Red Hill. My name is Patrick, but I’m not ‘that’ Patrick. My name is Patrick Henry Jolly!” That’s how I often greet students during Living History Days at Red Hill.
I’ve been doing events at Red Hill since 1999, when I was honored to play the Henry fiddle on the 200th anniversary of Patrick Henry’s death. Since then, I have had the pleasure of greeting thousands of visitors of all ages, sharing the life of Patrick Henry and the history of Red Hill.
As a descendant of Patrick and Sarah Henry, I’ve been studying the life of my ancestor for over 30 years, since I was first asked to do a presentation in my native Ohio.
I am retired and although I live in Ohio, I am often found in Virginia, sharing with visitors about Patrick Henry and life at Red Hill.
When I’m at Red Hill you may catch me in the Museum Shop, or with students during Living History Days. Maybe you’ll find me guiding a monthly lantern tour, or doing some research; or perhaps I’ll just be sitting in the Henry house, playing the fiddle, waiting to show you around.
