Hello!
My name is Sasha Erpenbach, and I am the Quarter Place Researcher here at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill. I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN, but I have lived in Virginia for the past 5 years. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington in May 2020 with a B.A. in Historic Preservation and Museum Studies and a G.I.S. Certificate. I began here as a summer intern in 2020 researching the Quarter Place and plan to continue my research until I go to graduate school at George Washington University. My job requires me to use primary sources to make connections about the Henry family and the enslaved people that lived here during Patrick and John Henry’s time. My museum background has also allowed me to work closely with the collection here at Red Hill. Outside of work, I enjoy visiting other museums and historic sites, crocheting, cooking, photography, traveling, and visiting family back in Tennessee. If you have any questions about the research that I have done on the Quarter Place or pieces in the collection, please feel free to reach out to me.
