My name is Myra Trent and I am the Director of Community Engagement here at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill. I was born and raised in Lynchburg, married my wonderful farmer, and moved to Charlotte County 28 years ago. I am a graduate of Lynchburg College (University of Lynchburg now) and hold a B.S. in Sociology. I came to Red Hill for the first time when I was dating my husband on July 4 and that has been a tradition every year since…except now I work the event. When we homeschooled our children we would bring them here for Living History Days and that is when I really fell in love with Red Hill and all that it has to offer. I have been part of the Red Hill staff since 2009 and have served in various positions. As Director of Community Engagement, I get to reach out to the community to create connections on various levels. I also work with businesses, trying to get sponsorships for our events and programs. I book and help organize events at the Casey Center. I often represent Red Hill at community meetings and at association events. But, one of my favorite things I get to do is to connect with visitors and donors to get a better understanding of why they love history, America, and Patrick Henry. Outside of the office, I enjoy cooking, decorating, shopping in antique stores, and going to the beach. I cherish time with my family and friends. I would love to talk to you about how you and your business can help further the mission of Red Hill or about hosting a corporate or private event here at Red Hill.
