Join Patrick Henry’s Red Hill and members of the local African American community for a tribute to the Quarter Place Community to honor the life and legacy of the enslaved population of Red Hill and their descendants.

Join members of the local African American community to honor the life and legacy of Red Hill’s enslaved population and their descendants. Festivities begin at 11:00 am with a presentation on the history of Quarter Place and a performance by Slamone Band. Lunch to follow.
 
The afternoon features:
  • Guest speakers Joseph McGill Jr. of the Slave Dwelling Project and Rev. Joseph Moore
  • Kuumba dancing
  • Poem readings
  • A ribbon cutting for a new exhibition, The Price of Chains & Slavery…and more!
 
This event is FREE and open to the public. Optional buffet lunch available for $5 per person. Tickets available at the link below.
