We need volunteers!
For 29 years, thousands of volunteers have gathered at battlefields and historic sites nationwide to participate in the American Battlefield Trust’s Park Day clean-up effort. This year, we need your help at Red Hill!
The day’s activities:
To allow even greater public access to the historic areas at Red Hill, volunteers can help clear trash and overgrowth along a walking trail and a historic barn. The barn, built in the early 1900s, will be open for tours before work starts.
Volunteers will work in small teams to identify and remove trash, construction materials, old signs, and scrap metal for organization and recycling. During a break, FREE boxed lunches will be provided!
In addition to the satisfaction of volunteer work, participants receive official Park Day backpacks and have the chance to hear the director of historic preservation & collections describe people and events of the past at Red Hill. Park Day can also be used to fulfill the service requirements associated with scout groups, student organizations, training corps programs, many school systems, and more.
Park Day allows the American Battlefield Trust to spotlight beloved American landscapes nationwide. You can help keep Red Hill clean, open, and accessible for everyone’s enjoyment.
What to bring & wear:
Closed-toe shoes are required to volunteer. Work gloves are recommended but will be provided if needed. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
