The Annual Fund provides general unrestricted support for the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation. Most of the Foundation’s programs are supported through the Annual Fund, which provides the resources needed to meet our day to day operations. This gives our leadership the flexibility to confront situations and explore opportunities that arise during the course of the year. Giving through the Annual Fund demonstrates the closest trust between our donors and the organization. As a nonprofit organization, the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation depends on support from individuals and earned revenue to meet its mission. The ongoing preservation work, educational programs, and research are all made possible thanks to generous individuals, corporations and foundations. And while we are an affiliated area of the National Park Service, we receive no government support for our work.
The Annual Fund
The Barksdale-Dabney-Henry Fund
The Barksdale-Dabney-Henry Fund was created through the generosity of Margaret Penick Nuttle, a descendant of Patrick Henry. The overall purpose of the Fund is to implement planned programs for the support and re-creation of the plantation “Red Hill.” Further donations to the Barksdale-Dabney-Henry Fund support continued preservation of historic structures, archaeology, and other buildings and grounds projects at Red Hill.
The Edith Poindexter Collections Fund
Recognizing the dedication and passion for Patrick Henry and his home at Red Hill of longtime curator, and volunteer Edith Poindexter, the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation has created the Edith Poindexter Collections Fund in her honor.
Contributions to the Fund go toward acquisitions, conservation, and preservation of the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation’s collection of artifacts.
