Saturday, October 10, 2020 - 10:00am to 2:00pm - Public Living History Day

Join us for a Living History Day for the general public! Young and old alike can participate in the hands-on experience of 18th century life. Programs will rotate among spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, pottery, Colonial medicine, flax to linen, and other activities. Also included will be a tour of the historic buildings, our museum, and Patrick Henry’s gravesite. 

We recommend registering in advance. Everyone is welcome!

$5 per person over the age of 4, $20 per family.

Saturday, November 7, 2020 - 11:00am to 5:00pm - Tenth Annual Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Festival

Join us Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 11 am to 5 pm for our Tenth Annual Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Festival at Patrick Henry's Red Hill.

The Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Festival is all about embracing the flavors and sounds of Southern Virginia at the home of Virginia's Passionate Patriot & Fiery Fiddler!

This festival combines a LOVE of history with a LOVE of music, barbecue and Virginia craft beer and cider! The Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Festival brings together the lifestyle of yester year with modern leisurely activities. Our intention is for the revelers to fall in love with Southern Virginia and all of the history, culture, food, beer and music it has to offer.

Stroll the beautiful grounds of Red Hill while enjoying the live music. Delicious local barbecue will be available from local restaurants. Shop with artisan and craft vendors! Self-guided tours of Patrick Henry’s home, law office and other historical buildings will be offered throughout the day and is included in your ticket! Also guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating to watch the bands!

Sunday, December 6, 2020 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm - Christmas Open House

The annual Christmas Open House at Red Hill will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 2 pm to 4 pm. The Patrick Henry Auxiliary sponsors this event and cordially invites the public to attend; admission is complimentary, but donations would be appreciated.

Guests will be treated to docent-guided tours of the historic buildings at Red Hill, including Patrick Henry’s house, Law Office, and other buildings, all decorated for the holiday by the Red Hill Garden Club. Complimentary hot mulled cider, Brunswick stew prepared by the Charlotte Lions Club and homemade cookies will be available throughout the afternoon. The gift shop will be offering a 10% discount on its regular shop merchandise on this special day. The Museum Shop has many items that are perfect for gift-giving, including the award-winning Red Hill Wine collection.
