Tastings on the Terrace at Red Hill
Join us on the terrace at Red Hill from noon until 5pm to taste the Red Hill Wine Collection! $6 tasting fee includes admission to the Patrick Henry National Memorial. Read more about the Red Hill Wine Collection and Tastings on the Terrace. At 3:00 pm, Hearth Cook and Food Historian Rachel C. Deddens will be giving a talk about cooking and recipes with wine in the 18th and 19th centuries. She will have some handouts with information available.
The talk will take place under the Osage Orange tree while visitors enjoy the Red Hill Wine Collection. In the Museum Shop, we have Dedden's autographed book Cooking at the Hearth for sale!
The cost to the tastings event is $6 and includes your admission to Red Hill. Souvenir glasses will be available for purchase for $3.

Fourth of July Celebration
Enjoy fireworks, live music, Patrick Henry delivering his celebrated speech, 18th century interpretations (many are hands-on!), tours, kids' games, arts & crafts vendors and more! Events begin at 3:00 p.m. with fireworks at dusk. Bluegrass band Tara Mills and Yankee Dixie of Charlottesville, VA will play from 5:00 to 7:00pm! The gate closes at 9:00 p.m.

Living History Days for Homeschool Students Advance Registration Required for this Event Begins on August 1st
Join us for our Annual Days of Living History for Homeschooled Students. Geared for children ages 8 to 10 years old, although children younger and older benefit from the hands-on experience of 18th century life. Programs will be from among spinning and weaving, basket making, blacksmithing, rope making, butter making, pottery. Groups may register by providing the number and ages of children, as well as the number of adults in attendance.

The Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Festival is all about embracing the flavors and sounds of Southern Virginia at the home of Virginia' Passionate Patriot & Fiery Fiddler!
This festival combines a LOVE of history with a LOVE of music, barbecue and Virginia craft beer! The Bluegrass, Barbecue & Brew Fesitval
brings together the lifestyle of yester year with modern leisurely activities. Our intention is for the people to fall in love with Southern
Virginia and all of the history, culture, food, beer and music it has to offer.
Stroll the beautiful grounds of Red Hill while enjoying the live music. Delicious local barbecue will be available from local restaurants and shop with artisan and craft vendors! Self-guided tours
of Patrick Henry’s home, law office and other historical buildings will be offered throughout the day and is included in your
ticket! Also guests are encouraged to bring a personal lawn chair or blanket for seating to watch the bands!

Christmas Open House
The annual Christmas Open House at Red Hill will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Patrick Henry Auxiliary sponsors this event and cordially invites the public to attend; admission is complimentary. Guests will be treated to docent-guided tours of the historic buildings at Red Hill, including Patrick Henry’s house, Law Office, and other buildings, all decorated for the holiday by the Red Hill Garden Club. Complimentary hot mulled cider, Brunswick stew prepared by the Charlotte Lions Club and cookies will be available throughout the afternoon. The gift shop will be offering a 10% discount on its regular shop merchandise on this special day. The Museum Shop has several new items that are perfect for gift-giving, including the newly introduced Red Hill Wine collection.
The annual sale of boxwood wreaths and boxwood kissing balls, with proceeds benefiting the Patrick Henry Auxiliary, is currently underway. Reserved wreaths and kissing balls are available beginning November 30th and will be available at the Christmas Open House as supplies last. These wreaths cost only $25 each and kissing balls $10 each and both are handmade using locally grown boxwood. Call (376-2044) to reserve your wreath or kissing ball today as only a limited supply is available.
